BIOAVLEE SELLS FIRST QUANTICA 500 COLONY COUNTERS

At the end of November, Bioavlee, our portfolio company, received an order for eight pieces of Quantica 500 colony counters. The order was completed on the same day. This is the first sale of Quantica 500 devices implemented by Bioavlee.

Quantica 500 is a device created for a wide audience, enabling automatic counting of microorganism colonies in quantitative analyzes during microbiological tests. Quantica 500 is more efficient, faster and cheaper compared to competitive solutions. Thanks to an efficient algorithm, the Quantica 500 correctly sums up even merged colonies. This feature gives the Bioavlee device a significant advantage over existing standard solutions, having difficulties in separating this type of colonies.

The Company is in talks with foreign distributors regarding the sale of Quantica 500, among others in France, Great Britain, Germany, Croatia, Spain and Turkey. At the beginning of next year, Bioavlee will provide foreign distributors with a series of test equipment.

Congratulations on the first sale!

APS WILL PROTECT AIRPORTS IN NORWAY AGAINST AERIAL THREATS

Our portfolio company Advanced Protection Systems (APS) announced a few days ago that its CTRL+SKY system will be used in Norway to protect airports from aerial threats.
The company signed a contract with AVINOR for the protection of the Stavanger airport, among others in the field of bird monitoring as well as detection and neutralization of drones.

Airports and surrounding areas are particularly vulnerable to intrusions of drones. Thanks to the multi-sensor design, the Ctrl+Sky system enables efficient detection and neutralization of drones both day and night, in 24/7 mode, in all weather conditions. The system guarantees the so-called “umbrella protection” without dead zones, which means that every flying intruder will be captured, and thus its neutralization will be possible.

Congratulations to the entire APS team for the next international cooperation and implementation!

FORBES ABOUT POLISH GUTENBERG – FILIP GRANEK – FOUNDER AND CEO OF XTPL

In the latest edition of the Forbes monthly, there is an article about the extraordinary path that Filip Granek went through, from a scientist to an effective leader and entrepreneur, awarded last week by EY in the Entrepreneur of the Year competition.
XTPL aspires to be a global company, the valuation of which exceeds one billion zlotys. However, it would not be a success without the vision and courage that Konrad Pankiewicz,  the first investor of XTPL, did not lack.
“(…) I invested in a project called “the world’s thinnest electrically conductive lines”, and when asked the author of the project, if he would be able to implement it, he replied with childish honesty that he had no idea. It was a matter of imagination and courage. I am glad that we did not miss it”– says Konrad Pankiewicz.
The entire article is available in the paper version of the latest issue of the Polish edition of FORBES magazine (12/2018). An excerpt of the article can be found here.
