48h standstill at Gatwick airport caused by sighting of a drone, began hot discussion in regards of airports safety from unmanned aircrafts. The question asked is to does the security system exists, which can prevent these incidents? The answer is Yes, and they are offered by our portfolio company – Advanced Protection System, which starts to implement the security of the system at Stavanger airport in Norway. The Norwegians saw the advantages of the Ctrl+Sky system and signed the contract at the end of last year. We hope that many other will follow Norwegian suite and APS will grow their wings to secure safe and on time flight. SkyNews during their poll on security from the drones didn’t give the ultimate answer if they do or don’t have the system, only that there is a plan to implement one and that the British Government ignored the problem for far too long. Will it be able to avoid Gatwick drone disaster in the future? Or will it have to happen again?
